Modelling and designing systems to transport fluids

Whilst reactors, distillation columns, furnaces and the like might be the glamourous unit operations in chemical engineering, they nearly all rely on the ability to move fluid materials to them, through them and out of them again. These fluid flow systems can be one of the largest cost areas in a new plant, and high cost areas in the maintenance of existing plants. DESIGN OF FLUiD FLOW SYSTEMS As a result, it is important to design fluid flow systems to operate correctly. There are many criteria to meet usually, including low capital cost low running cost controllability flexibility balanced operation (networks and distributors) safe operating pressure HOW IS THIS ACHIEVED? Careful, expert design using modern tools is all that’s needed, together with a good understanding of the principles involved. I have many years of experience of operating fluid flow systems and designing them using modern software. WHAT TYPES OF FLUID FLOW ARE COVERED?
